East Malaysia’s first and only private radio station was launched on 8th August 1996 as CATS Radio before becoming CATS FM in 2001, operating 24 hours from Jalan Bako, Kuching. Broadcasts are in Bahasa Malaysia interspersed with the local Malay dialect and Bahasa Iban. Fondly known as the ‘Just For You’ radio station, its programs reflect the diversity of the Sarawak society with a more personal local touch. Programmes highlight every aspect of Sarawakian society, from language to interests. Their ultimate mix of music, info and local/international news lives up to its tagline: ‘Just For You – Nang Antap’, which incorporates local Malay dialect that means ‘Truly the Best’.
